Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee" (Revelation 3:9)
Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan,.... Which may be understood of the followers of the man of sin, whose coming was after the working of Satan, and whose doctrines are the doctrines of devils. Their false teachings filled, and still do today, their synagogues for religious worship in their way; but they are none other than synagogues of Satan. Those who assemble in them are of their father the devil, and do his works, and will do them: which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie. Which means that they are Jews by name and nation outwardly, but not inwardly and spiritually. This describes today's modern nation-state of Israel, Jewish people today in all nations who ascribe to the Torah while denying Christ, and simultaneously those who, in the name of "Christianity," give blind allegiance to a DNA-coded people, namely the Jews, without regard to the warnings from God's own Word. |
Brethren, as it relates directly to the nation-state of Israel, Jews in general, and the Gospel; Dispensationalism throughout the last 160 years in America, has wreaked havoc through confusion and false teachings that have sidetracked many Christians from obeying God's command to take the Gospel to the Jews. The intensity of that confusion heated up in 1909 with the publication of Cyrus I. Scofield's "Scofield Reference Bible" that has contributed more to modern-day Zionism, in opposition to the Gospel, than any other proponent that's crept into the church, whereby the blasphemous notion of race determines standing with God. Rather than being, as God is, no respecter of persons, many Christians in the West, being lulled to sleep by Dispensationalism, while referring to Scofield's "notes" as "inspired," have failed to warn Jews of the wrath of God to come against their false teachings, false religion, and false position among all people groups. The fruit of Dispensationalism's teachings/influence has moved countless Christians to refer to Christ-mocking, Gospel-denying, New Testament-blaspheming Jews as "God's people." Tragedy of tragedies!
A true "Jew," in the Biblical sense of what that means, is to be born-again, according to the Scriptures. This is not some new teaching, but it's what has been faithfully proclaimed by God's servants with authority under the New Covenant for over 2,000 years. In fact, we could say the same, from the initiating of the Abrahamic Covenant made by God, and by default, all of those who, like Abraham, believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ Who is, the "SEED" of Abraham. We must declare, as did Paul, that all who are in Christ, are the "seed of Abraham" and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:16-29). Being "heirs" to the same promise is not according to one's ethnicity, but as I've said, according to one's "hearticity" which is to say, according to one's new heart given to them by God through their new birth and faith in Christ.
From Romans 2:28, we can see the "hearticity" or the revelation of what it means to be an heir/seed of Abraham, as one who has a new heart through faith in Christ, and what it means to be a "Jew" in the most Biblical sense: "For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh. But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God." In Jesus' day, and in 2025, carnal Jews, along with their Dispensational supporters in the West, even in the name of "Christianity," falsely assume their standing based on race. They repeat the same deception that was asserted by the Jews who said to Jesus "We be Abraham's seed!...Abraham is our father!...God is our Father!..." (John chapter 8), but our response to them must be the same as Jesus' response: "If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham!..." If God were your Father, ye would love Me (Christ)!"
And so, Brethren, in context, I hope you can see that carnal wicked people, under the influence of Satan, pretend to be religious people and worshippers of God. Out of the Jewish people, just as he has out of the other people groups, God will redeem some. Of them, He says to the church: behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet" which refers to the conversion of the Jews from Judaism, from Torah-keeping, and from the delusion of Zionism unto...the...Gospel. The church itself, consisting of all of Christ's redeemed/elect, from every nation, is not the object of worship, and so, here the Scripture is simply clarifying that it's before the body of Christ this worship shall be given to God in the most humble and hearty manner for all to witness. Glory to God!
God retains a remnant who will come to Christ publicly, as all men must. And so, in this sense, converted Jews shall come to the church, into the sheepfold of the Great Shepherd, and in the most lowly and contrite manner acknowledging their former blindness and hatred of Christ and of Christians who they formerly considered dogs beneath them. They shall profess their faith in Christ; shall join themselves to the church, and partake of the ordinances of the Gospel with others, as one, and shall worship God and Jesus Christ, their Lord and King. And so, when the Lord says, "and to know that I have loved thee," He's directing this statement to the Gentile church. He does so while pointing to His condescension in taking on flesh, living a sinless life in that flesh, and redeeming them/us in sending his Gospel to them/us, and calling them/us by his grace, and planting them/us into Gospel churches; giving them/us a place, and a name in his house, better than that of natural-born sons and daughters..."having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will" (Ephesians 1:5). There is now; therefore, no more them/us, but only "one people, one spirit, one faith, one baptism, and one Lord Who is over us all," namely, the everlasting church of the everlasting God. And so, Brethren, the Israel, Jews, and the Gospel conundrum that Dispensationalism has wreaked havoc on, is purely and simply answered by Scripture in the clearest terms of what the new birth requires and what results are for those who are redeemed- saints who are "neither Jew nor Gentile" (Galatians 3:28) but who are one in Christ, being adopted by God, through Christ, as washed by His precious blood of atonement now and forever, amen. This is not replacement theology, but what THE "Israel of God," is, as Paul referred to it in his letter to the church at Galatia. This is truth of God's Word. Always has been, and always will be, in Christ. Amen.
